Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said that there is a possibility of renewing the campaign against Iran after the attacks it targeted last June.
Katz’s comments came yesterday during a comprehensive evaluation of the situation with a number of senior Israeli military officials, including the Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir.
The Israeli minister stressed – in a statement issued by his office – the need to prepare an effective plan for the future to ensure that Iran does not resume its nuclear program.
Two days ago, Israeli media quoted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as saying that “there is no opportunity for peace with the Iranian regime,” but he pointed out that “the Iranian people want to overthrow the regime”, in a repetition of a speech that reflects the increasing spacing between Tel Aviv and Tehran.
On Monday evening, US President Donald Trump threatened that his country would reiterate Iranian nuclear installations if necessary.
Trump’s threat came in a post on the “Truth Social” network, commenting on statements by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqji, in which he confirmed that his country would not abandon the enrichment of uranium, despite the great damage suffered by its nuclear program due to the American strikes that it targeted last June.
