Since Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in 2007, the Strip has become a scene of ongoing conflict and an area where an ideology of hatred and religious extremism shapes the lives of millions of people.
An entire generation has grown up to a reality where Israel and the Jews are presented as an existential enemy, and violence is seen as a way of life. The first step on the way to breaking this destructive cycle requires a process of deep and multidimensional de-Hamasization, based initially on a redesign of the education system, economic rehabilitation and leading social change.
