New Delhi. To prevent Corona Virus infection, the retiring rooms built by the Railways at all the stations were closed after the lockdown. But now after the Corona cases have reduced, the Ministry of Railways has ordered all the Zonal Railways to follow the protocols issued for COVID-19. Can open again.

The Railway Ministry has instructed all the zonal railways to strictly follow the Covid-19 protocol while opening these retiring rooms.

Let us tell you that to prevent the spread of Corona infection in the country, the operation of all trains was stopped by the Railway Ministry. The retiring rooms at the stations were also still closed. Although the Railways is operating trains in a phased manner in compliance with the protocols, now along with providing train facilities to the passengers, it has also decided to provide retiring room facilities at railway stations.

The Railway Ministry has given permission to Zonal Railways to take a decision regarding reopening of retiring rooms located at stations. But while doing so, they will have to reopen them only keeping in mind the Covid related protocols issued by the government and other local conditions.

According to information Railway Board has already issued permission to rest houses, railway passenger residences and hotels run by IRCTC (Railway Board letter no. 2020/Catering/600/01/Pt.2dt. 19.10.2020) has been given permission to reopen.

At present, operation of many special express/passenger trains has been started in a phased manner as per the need. Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, Railways has decided to allow opening of rest houses at stations.
