HD Ben-Amar: Go understand | Israel time

41 years ago, I was uprooted from the kibbutz in the Valley to Tel Aviv. I soon learned to like the energetic, bustling city, and identify with Amos Oz’s definition: “The most beautiful city.” Inspired by Meir Wieseltier, I also have a “sympathy for crumbling buildings in Tel Aviv” and even for “desperate plaster”.

But the outdoor of nature is very missing here, perhaps also because of the rural night. The longing for nature and grows now, in spring. Although the Tel Aviv residential street is green and blooming, only on television or on the banks of the Yarkon I can watch real spring pieces. Because the landscape does not invade our city like rural or cities such as Jerusalem and Haifa.
