“From Egypt to Gaza, and a people feeding a people,” expressions that were overwhelmed by emotion and grabbed people as if they were a rescue message, after communication platforms invaded controversial pictures, which were said to show floating food packages in the sea, sent from the coast of Egypt towards the besieged Gaza Strip.
The pictures, which spread in multiple languages, showed plastic packages floating on the surface of the sea, some of which carry food and other children’s milk, and phrases “from the people of Egypt to Gaza” were commented on and others.
But behind these influential emotional scenes, questions soon began to appear: Did this really happen? Are the pictures real or from the production of artificial intelligence?
Sanad for monitoring and news investigation on Al -Jazeera Network conducted an accurate visual and technical analysis to understand whether it documents a realistic scene, or represents a new model of deep counterfeiting.
Survival bottles
One of the most frequently traded pictures, scenes of people standing on the coast, and delivering plastic packages in the sea, amid comments that these photos were taken in Egypt, in a popular scene alternative to the absence of officials and crossings.

However, the visual analysis conducted by “Sanad” showed that these images are fully fabricated, born using artificial intelligence tools, in which clear synthetic errors appeared: deformities in the features of the faces, the lack of consistency of the limbs, and imbalances in the formation of bodies and clothes, which are all known indicators in the manufactured content through the automatic artificial intelligence systems.

Food arrives at the beaches of Gaza
Later, other pictures appeared showing milk and food bags “have arrived”, according to the prosecution, to the beaches of Gaza, while young men appear in the background and appear to be happy and surprising.
What pains me the most is seeing some people trying to help the people of Gaza with whatever they can. They put food in a sealed bottle and throw it into the sea, hoping the currents will carry it to Gaza.

But the agency “Sanad” reached after analyzing the photos that it was also unrealistic. An imbalance in shadows and lighting, and irrational details in the surrounding environment, in addition to accurate digital defects in the formation of bodies, indicates the use of artificial intelligence techniques directly.

The idea is real .. But the picture is false
Although the deployed images are fake, the idea that I carried is not fully fully fully, as real attempts were monitored by Egyptian citizens to send simple naval assistance towards Gaza, as a kind of popular expression of solidarity in the face of famine and siege.

Scenes of two young men from Gaza, claiming that they were able to obtain two bottles with lentils from the Gaza Sea, but we were not able to independently verify the credibility or confirmation of these clips.

While some accounts are busy falsifying the images, the figures coming from Gaza confirm that the reality is worse than any fabricated scenario, according to the government media office in Gaza, about 40,000 infants under the age of one year are threatened with slow death, due to lack of food and infant formula, in light of the continuous Israeli siege.
The office demanded the opening of the crossings “immediately and without conditions”, blaming the Israeli occupation and those who described them as the colluding countries, and the international community, the full responsibility for the lives that are lost under this systematic siege.
