The new government of the eighth president of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto (Prabowo Subianto), a “red-white cabinet” (as the colors of the Indonesian flag), took office after the inauguration ceremony on October 20, 2024. The government consists of 7 of the 8 parties in the parliament, and includes 48 ministers – The largest government in Indonesia so far.
The elected president had about 7 months of preparation after he won the elections in the first round in February 2024 (by a significant majority of the other two candidates – over 58%). During this time, the president formed his coalition and the plans for the new government, and held several meetings with heads of state and international forums in order to create an international status and presence for him. In this context, it is possible to note the president’s clear and courageous statements regarding the war in Gaza and a concrete proposal to contribute to promoting a solution to the conflict in our region.
