New Delhi. There is good news for all the central employees working in the country. Now he and his family will get big benefits outside the country also. Government employees will also have the facility of treatment abroad under the health scheme. A clarification has been given by the Health and Family Welfare Department regarding this.
Recently, in the reply given by Sandeep Kumar, Under Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, to TK Damodaran of Chennai, it has been said that the benefit of treatment can be availed in foreign countries also under the Central Government Health Scheme. Whereas pensioners cannot get this benefit.
It has been said in the letter that according to Rule 11 of CSMA, 1944, a government employee and his dependent family members can get treatment outside the country also. Apart from this, reimbursement of expenses incurred after getting yourself or your family members treated in the country or abroad can also be claimed.
It has been clarified in the letter that government employees mean those employees working under the Central Government who are still employees and providing services to the government. According to the rules of Central Service Medical Attendance, pensioner employees will not get the benefit of treatment abroad under this scheme.
