Galit Cohen: Israel cannot afford to stay behind at climate goals

Israel is at a critical intersection in its climate and energy policy. The OECD economic report on Israel presents an alarming picture: we do not meet the climate goals and our international liabilities.

This is not only environmental failure, but also economic and strategic. If we do not take courageous action now, we will remain behind, while most countries perform reforms and accelerate the transition to renewable energies and electric transport. This delay endangers the competitiveness of the Israeli economy, weakens national resilience, and deepens the burden on future generations.
