Arpit Badkul/Damoh: Beekeeping has started in Bundelkhand area of Madhya Pradesh. The first glimpse was seen in Kuakheda village of Damoh district, where farmer Manoj Patel has started beekeeping by spending 2 to 3 lakh rupees. The number of bees increases every year. Let us tell you that the more bees increase, the more honey will be produced and the profit will also increase manifold to lakhs.
Five farmers of the district are doing the business which gives profit to rural areas and are earning good profits. The government also continuously encourages farmers to adopt this business. The central government also gives 80 to 85% subsidy on beekeeping. Apart from this, other state governments also give incentives to farmers to adopt this business.
Madhya Pradesh government is giving subsidy
At the same time, the government is giving subsidy of up to 40 percent to the farmers interested in beekeeping. For honey, up to 75% subsidy is given to general category farmers and up to 90% subsidy is given to SC-ST category farmers for honey colony including bee box, honey extraction equipment and processing.

Farmer Manoj Patel of Kuakheda village, who is doing beekeeping, said that he had purchased 50 boxes at a cost of Rs 2 lakh. As the boxes increased, the business also increased and the profits also started increasing. Presently I earn a profit of Rs 5 to 6 lakh. Apart from this, I am preparing honey under the name of Bundeli brand and selling it on Amazon’s side besides the markets. Currently we have honey of litchi, neem, multiflora, basil, acacia, jamun, mustard and celery available.

Giving information, agricultural scientist Manoj Ahirwar said that the bee is a very beneficial insect. Which increases the process from flowering to fruit formation in plants and increases cross pollination. There are about 5 farmers in Damoh district who are currently doing beekeeping.
