Egypt condemns the occupation’s targeting of the health sector in Gaza and rejects the displacement of Palestinians news

On Sunday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the “systematic and brutal” targeting practiced by the Israeli occupation forces against hospitals and health infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, stressing its categorical rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their lands.

The Ministry condemned in a statement “the targeting and evacuation of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip,” noting that this hospital is the last major health facility operating in the northern region of the Strip. The statement described the operation as “a blatant aggression and a blatant violation of all international norms and conventions,” adding to the series of violations committed by the occupation authorities against the Palestinians.

Egypt warned of the continuation of “disgraceful actions” aimed at evacuating the northern Gaza Strip and making it unlivable, stressing that these practices aim to forcibly displace Palestinians from their lands. She stressed that this trend represents a grave violation of international law and international humanitarian law, as well as a serious threat to regional and international peace and security.

Egypt renewed its complete and categorical rejection of all plans and steps aimed at displacing the population of the Gaza Strip in any way, noting the importance of ending the war in Gaza immediately and stopping all brutal practices.

A call for international accountability

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry called for “activating international accountability mechanisms” and for the international community and the Security Council to take decisive measures to stop these violations. It also stressed the need to put an end to Israeli policies that cause the displacement of civilian populations and the destruction of their infrastructure.

Egypt concluded its statement by emphasizing the need to ensure the “adequate and sustainable flow of humanitarian aid to relieve hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza,” warning that the continuation of these violations will further aggravate the deteriorating humanitarian situation, and this requires immediate international intervention to end this crisis.

Since October 7, 2023, the Gaza Strip has witnessed one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world, as the occupation forces continue their bombing and destruction operations, and this has led to the fall of more than 153 thousand martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women. These violations come in light of a stifling siege on the Gaza Strip and the prevention of entry of basic supplies, including food, water, and medicines.
