In recent weeks, there has been growing concern among the World Health Organization due to the reports of the outbreak of the HMPV virus in China. This virus, which was first detected in the Netherlands in 2001, is recognized as a respiratory disease and is considered dangerous mainly for babies, small children, the immunocompromised and the elderly population.
