Coventry, the first and African woman to win the chairmanship of the International Olympic Committee sports

Kirstity Covenri was elected today, Thursday, a chairman of the International Olympic Committee after winning the voting process today in a luxurious coastal resort in Biloponiz, southwest of Greece.

Zimbabwean Coventry needed only one round of voting to win the elections and the succession of Thomas Bach, as she won an immediate majority in the secret ballot to take over the leadership of the richest multi -sports organization in the world.

Coventry became the first woman to chair the International Olympic Committee and the first to take over from Africa.

Coventry outperformed the competition for Juan Antonio Samarans, the son, Sebastian Co and David Laartian, Mourinary Watanabi, Prince Faisal bin Al -Hussein from Jordan and Johan Eliyash.

As the new president of the International Olympic Committee, Coventry will now undertake the task of directing the Olympic Movement in a new era, supervising future Olympic sessions and addressing major challenges such as high costs, geopolitical tensions, and the advanced scene of global sporting governance.
