Bradley Barkola scored a last-gasp goal to give Paris Saint-Germain a 2-1 victory over Lens on Saturday, keeping the defending champions at the top of the French Football League by a large margin over their closest rivals.
Barkola scored the goal 4 minutes before the end when he received a pass from Joao Neves on the left side of the penalty area and shot a powerful ball into the upper right corner.
Paris Saint-Germain leads the league table with 46 points, 10 points ahead of second-placed Olympique Marseille, which will host Strasbourg tomorrow, Sunday. Lance ranks seventh with 27 points.
Lance surprised his guest with a goal 9 minutes before the end of the first half when Mbala Dzhoula found space at the far post to meet a corner kick, and calmly put the ball into the goal from close range.
Nzoula thought he had doubled Lance’s lead early in the second half when he received a long pass, rushed into the penalty area and shot hard into the goal, but the referee raised the flag for offside.
Saint-Germain equalized an hour before the match when Barkola made his way into the penalty area and passed the ball to an unmarked Fabian Ruiz, who calmly put it into the goal.
Both teams had chances in the final minutes before Barkola scored a goal, ensuring Paris Saint-Germain’s 14th league win this season.
