Israeli minister Zeev Elkin said on Wednesday that Israel may threaten to include parts of the Gaza Strip to increase pressure on the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), an idea that would strike the hopes of the Palestinians in establishing a state on lands currently occupied by Israel.
The comment of Elkin, a security cabinet member, came a day after Britain announced that it may recognize a Palestinian state next September unless Israel takes steps to alleviate the suffering in Gaza and reach a ceasefire with Hamas, before Canada followed it with a similar declaration.
France and Saudi Arabia issued an advertisement on Tuesday that it had the support of Egypt, Qatar, the League of Arab States and other countries, defining the steps towards the implementation of the two -state solution. Paris announced last week that it intends to recognize a Palestinian state next September.
Elkin accused Hamas of procrastination in the ceasefire talks to obtain Israeli concessions, and told the Israeli Broadcasting Authority that Israel may have a final warning to reach an agreement before expanding its military operations.
The Israeli minister said, “What hurts our enemy is the loss of the land … If we explain to Hamas that the moment they are manipulating with us, they will lose lands that they will never restore, then this will be a great pressure tool,” the Israeli minister said.
The mediation efforts aimed at reaching an agreement ensuring a 60 -day ceasefire and the release of the remaining detainees in Hamas last week, and the two parties exchanged accusations of responsibility for stalemate.
Israel is facing increasing international pressure on the situation in Gaza, where the integrated phased rating initiative of food security, a global observation of hunger, warned that the worst star scenario is revealed in the Strip.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced the death of 7 other people due to hunger on Wednesday, to exceed the number of martyrs from the groups of 150 martyrs, in addition to 1300 other martyrs from the awaiting aid who were martyred with Israeli fire while they were risked to obtain a flour bag.
With an American support, Israel continues its war on Gaza, leaving more than 206,000 Palestinians between a martyr and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people and the famine that has been tired of dozens.
