The Advisor to the Prime Minister, the official spokesman of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid Al -Ansari, said that an Israeli delegation was supposed to arrive on Monday for the negotiations of the second stage of the ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), and expressed his hope that US President Donald Trump would ask Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is visiting Washington, DC, fulfills his pledges and sending his negotiating delegation to Doha.
“What I understand is that Netanyahu wants to meet Trump first and hold discussions before sending a negotiating delegation,” Al -Ansari said in statements to the American Prosta site, adding, “We rely on President Trump and his management to send a clear message to support negotiation and the second stage.”
The Qatari spokesman stressed that “the conversion of the ceasefire in Gaza for a permanent peace is very important to expand Trump’s vision in the region,” and said they depend on “President Trump’s approach to move forward towards the following stages of the agreement.”
Al -Ansari expressed his belief that “the agreement would not have happened without President Trump’s insistence on its implementation,” and said, “We rely on the Trump administration to send a message to support this process throughout the path of peace.”
The official spokesman of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed that “Qatar formulated with Egypt and the United States a document that addresses all fears from both sides,” and said that “the document we fabricated provides mechanisms to resolve any differences on the agreement and face any complications.”
He added that Qatar “is in contact with the two sides to ensure their commitment to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza,” noting that the envoy of US President Donald Trump for the Middle East, Stephen Whitkov, “has worked to ensure the success of implementing the ceasefire agreement since its announcement.”
On January 19, the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel entered into force in its 6 -week first stage, and the end of the fourth exchange process within the first phase of the agreement. The resistance was released 13 Israelis and 5 Thai, for 583 Palestinian prisoners, were released from the occupation prisons.
