Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin visited Karachay-Cherkessia on a working trip, where he held a meeting on the socio-economic development of the region and a working meeting with the head of the republic Rashid Temrezov, and also inspected a number of objects.
“In general, Karachay-Cherkessia is developing well. In housing, 12% more new projects were launched than last year. The volume of non-residential real estate commissioning increased by 107%. At the same time, it is necessary to increase the pace of housing construction. There are also successes in the road sector: 87.85% of roads in urban agglomerations are in standard condition. They also discussed issues of modernizing utility infrastructure and identified key areas for ensuring economic growth in the region and increasing its fiscal sustainability. I would like to note that the integrated approach being implemented in the region is producing tangible results. I see significant potential in the development of housing and individual construction, as well as in the tourism sector. I thank Rashid Borispievich and his team for their systematic and focused work,” said Marat Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that Karachay-Cherkessia was included in the list of regions whose applications for treasury infrastructure loans (TIC) were approved by the presidium of the Government Commission for Regional Development. The KCR approved the CMC for a total amount of 986.1 million rubles for the implementation of two projects: the construction of heat supply networks in Cherkessk and the modernization of the heat supply system in the city of Ust-Dzhegut. In addition, as part of the competitive selection of Karachay-Cherkessia, an application for a CIC in the amount of 4.27 billion rubles was approved for the implementation of a large-scale infrastructure project to create engineering support facilities for the new Arkhyz airport complex, implemented on behalf of the President of Russia.
Marat Khusnullin also held a working meeting with the head of Karachay-Cherkessia Rashid Temrezov. During it, topical issues of the socio-economic development of the region that require further study were considered.
The head of Karachay-Cherkessia, in turn, thanked Marat Khusnullin for the attention and support provided to the region.
“We certainly understand that the areas that Marat Shakirzyanovich oversees in the Government of the Russian Federation are key to fulfilling the instructions of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin in terms of improving the quality of life of citizens. Our joint work on the development of the construction industry, housing and communal services, transport and road infrastructure, as well as the formation of comfortable public spaces is the key to the successful implementation of the strategic development goals of our state,” said Rashid Temrezov.
As part of his working trip, Marat Khusnullin visited the new Severny microdistrict in Cherkessk, where a comprehensive development project for a modern urban space is being implemented on an area of 103 hectares. It is planned to build residential buildings with an area of over 620 thousand square meters. m for approximately 35 thousand people. All the necessary infrastructure for a comfortable life is also provided: kindergartens, schools, clinics, an oncology hospital, sports and recreation centers.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister visited the Sputnik center for identifying and supporting talented children and youth, which opened in 2022. The project was implemented on behalf of the President of Russia. In addition to spaces for study, creativity, science and sports, a campus for children, designed for 60 people, has been opened on the territory.
Marat Khusnullin also inspected the landscaped area of the Small Pond in the Green Island cultural and recreation park. This project won the All-Russian competition for projects to create a comfortable urban environment in 2023. The work was completed in 2024. As part of the improvement, they also created a children’s play area, a rope park, equipped stairs and sports grounds, installed benches and lighting. The total area of the landscaped area is 5.68 hectares.
At the end of his working trip, Marat Khusnullin visited Arkhyz. He flew around the resort, got acquainted with the current state of the road network and assessed the pace of infrastructure development. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, some road sections require expansion. This will create more comfortable conditions for residents and tourists, as well as improve transport connectivity. Special attention was paid to the project for the construction of a new airport, which will also contribute to the significant development of tourism.
