On the sidelines of Russian Energy Week, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Novak met with the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan Daler Juma.

The parties discussed cooperation in the energy sectors. They also discussed cooperation in the oil sector and the electric power industry.

During the meeting, it was noted that Russia is the main supplier of petroleum products to Tajikistan, providing about 90% of the republic’s domestic consumption. Discussions continue on the implementation of joint projects to develop oil fields in Tajikistan.

In addition, recently it has been possible to make significant progress in resolving issues related to the work of the joint venture OJSC Sangtuda HPP-1.
