Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak took part in the joint plenary session “Creative Economy of Russia. Horizon 2050″, communication on the sidelines of the event, as well as a cultural program, including a visit to the exhibition of achievements of the Russian creative industry.
The moderators of the joint plenary session were journalist Rick Sanchez, as well as Senior Vice President, Director of External Relations of PSB Bank Vera Podguzova.
“The creative industry is booming in the world right now. Russia has joined this race, and we are very actively involved in the creative industry in our country. The share of creative industries in our economy is slightly higher than the world average: last year – 4.1%. Each area of the creative industry has enormous export potential. This is not only the development of competition, but also the opportunity to develop international partnerships, trade and economic cooperation, and strengthen trust between countries. Through the penetration of cultures and the exchange of them, we convey our cultural code and our identity to the world,” emphasized Alexander Novak.
The International Conference on the Creative Economy, which will be held in St. Petersburg, will focus on discussing the impact of creative industries on the economy, society and new chains for international cooperation. The event is expected to attract 1,500 participants, 120 experts from more than 30 countries. The platform will bring together representatives of creative industries from the BRICS, CIS, SCO, MENA countries, who will look for common solutions and create new partnerships.
“Competition in global markets between the world majority countries and countries losing leadership in the global economy is taking place in all sectors. Today, competition and, in many ways, the margins of various products are at the level of meaning and impressions. It is creativity that is becoming a key factor in global competitiveness. The creative economy is a very important element of social sovereignty. After all, those meanings, those cultural features that are being laid now, those narratives that are broadcast through products and services, largely shape public consciousness. Therefore, the development of the creative economy is a factor of global competitiveness, a factor of public sovereignty, public identity and the formation of the country’s national self-awareness,” said Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration.
The key theme of the session was the need to move from simple export of creative products to deep cooperation. General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Svetlana Chupsheva emphasized that Russia sees itself not just as a content provider, but as an integrator and partner in creating joint values. She announced the start of a large-scale project: “Russian international creative seasons will become an annual strategic platform for exchanging best practices, discussing trends and building joint projects. Creative industries are not logos, not a brand, they are a way of life. Today Russia invites its partners to jointly design the future – to decide together how to preserve our cultures and traditions in the era of artificial intelligence, so that technologies work for the benefit of people.”
The partner of the new project will be the Roscongress Foundation. “Creative industries are the energy of development and the real ‘gold reserve’ of our country. Today, the rich cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia is combined with advanced technologies and artificial intelligence, opening new horizons for the growth of the creative sector. The Roscongress Foundation acts as a factory of meanings and ideas – on its platforms, key trends in the development of the creative economy are being formed. For several years now we have been We are implementing the “Soul of Russia” project, which brings together the best cultural achievements and innovative initiatives of our regions. Russian international creative seasons have become a powerful platform for promoting these ideas, and next year we will continue to strengthen the cooperation of creative business leaders at the largest international platforms of the Roscongress Foundation – the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum, – said Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation, Chairman of the Board of the Innosocium Foundation Elena Marinina.
The conference will include about fifty discussions in various formats.
