Speech by Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in an expanded composition:
Good afternoon, dear colleagues!
Speech by Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Eurasian intergovernmental council in an expanded composition
I join the words of gratitude to Belarusian friends for a good organization of the event. And of course, for active work as a chairman in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union.
As the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin emphasized at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the end of last year, Russia highly appreciates mutually beneficial multifaceted cooperation with partners in the EAEU.
Yesterday, at the plenary session of the Innoprom international exhibition, we spoke in detail about promising sectors for cooperation. This is a very important direction. It is necessary to continue to promote the formation of strong ties between the industrial enterprises of our countries. To establish the exchange of technology and best practices. And in general, to conduct a coordinated policy of the Union in order to ensure the independence of key sectors from foreign decisions and increase the competitiveness of the entire “five”.
This will serve as an allegations of changes in the Regulation on the development and implementation of inters programs in the industrial sphere, which are approved by the results of the meeting. And an additional incentive for launching new joint scientific industries is the introduction of a supranational mechanism for supporting industrial cooperative projects. Our presidents approved this approach.
Business interest in this tool is growing. The Union budget has now provided for over 5 billion rubles for subsidizing interest rates on loans for the companies of our association, which together implement demanded initiatives.
We agreed to make support for the agricultural sector accessible with the help of such mechanisms. Over the 10 years of the Union, the volume of agricultural production in the “five” increased by more than a quarter, which covers over 90% of internal needs.
The provision of additional assistance to our agricultural producers will significantly strengthen food security, stimulate the emergence of new technological enterprises, will serve as an increase in mutual trade. And most importantly – our citizens will receive a wider range of quality food.
I want to note other areas of joint work on which you need to concentrate.
This is primarily the development of the transport and logistics frame of the association. Here it is necessary to accelerate the introduction of modern solutions to increase the throughput of existing routes and increase cargo transportation. Their volume in the first half of the year has grown to 4.5 billion tons and this is not the limit.
Another direction is the protection of our consumers from counterfeit and fakes, for which we increase the effectiveness of product quality control in the domestic market.
Three months ago, the corresponding pilot project for traceability of goods imported into the Union was completed. Given the experience gained, it is necessary to start the mechanism in full -format mode.
The priority also has an expansion of cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union with foreign partners.
At the final stage, work was reached on an agreement on free trade between the Union and Indonesia. We are counting on the speedy signing. Its implementation, as well as the entry into force of international treaties with the united Arab emirates and Mongolia, will qualitatively improve the foreign economic relations of the Pentarus with other states of the Global South, will increase trade.
Deep -liable colleagues! Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin noted that interaction in the new multipolar world should be built on a fair and equal basis. In the Eurasian Economic Union we act in this way, respecting each other’s interests. I am convinced that this is the key to future achievements.
