War Diary: Sunday, August 24 2025

Let’s hear a small anecdote from a few months ago. It was on April 28. No longer a regular day in Israel. It was the 600s to mark one of the horrible days in the history of the state. 600 days since the massacre where hundreds of Israelis were murdered, and 600 days for the kidnapping of 251 Israelis and Israelis, including many young people and women.

That day, at the university where I study, stop the school day and for an hour a protest and support for the abducted families took place. But a few hours later, that evening, the Student Union organized “Student Day”: a festival with performances, alcohol, and especially disconnection. So much disconnection was there.
