Dmitry Chernyshenko held a working meeting with the governor of the Arkhangelsk region Alexander Tsybulsky
As part of a working trip to the Arkhangelsk region, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko discussed the issues of development in the subject of science, education, youth policy, tourism, sports, as well as participation in a number of national projects with the governor of the region.
“Technological leadership is the national goal set by our President Vladimir Putin. Science plays a key role in achieving it. The Arkhangelsk region strengthens its position in the national rating of scientific and technological development. The region also actively uses all support measures that are represented in the national project “Youth and Children”. We see the effect – the number of companies in the real sector is growing that participate in the activities of the Russian Arctic Nutz, ”Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted the work of the region to implement projects with the support of the Russian Scientific Fund and the involvement of young scientists for whom youth laboratories are created.
The meeting also discussed the course of the reception campaign in universities and SPO.
“In the whole country, engineering specialties, as well as medicine and pedagogy, were most popular among applicants,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The governor of the Arkhangelsk region noted that the development of the scientific and educational sphere is one of the priorities, as this is also a direction for the further development of the region’s economy. Two major universities operate in Pomorye – the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after MV Lomonosov and the Northern State Medical University.
According to the head of the region, both institutions are a good base for the training of highly professional specialists for the future economy of the Arctic zone of Russia and the whole country as a whole.
“The reception campaign is now actively going on. Today, we have 87%, an appointment with average professional institutions. The largest number of people is accepted in the priority areas of the regional economy, which are in demand by the employer. This is shipbuilding, construction, transport, medicine and education, ”said Alexander Tsybulsky.
Another most important stage in the development of the scientific and educational sphere, according to the head of the region, was the project to build the inter-university campus “Arctic Star”, the appearance of which in Arkhangelsk will become a final link in the chain of scientific and educational training in Pomerania.
Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the importance of creating a campus and ensuring the technological connection of customers with partners who participate in the project and are interested in training personnel.
He also added that the Arkhangelsk region is actively involved in the federal project “Professor”. Four educational clusters have already been created in the region. According to the results of the competitive selection, another will be launched – in the direction of the Forest Industry.
Along with this, the head of the region spoke about the work on creating infrastructure in the field of school education. Over the past five years, seven new schools have been built in Pomerania, designed for more than 4 thousand students, dozens of objects have been upgraded, 5.5 billion rubles have been sent to overhaul of 150 buildings. In the two -year cycle of 2024–2025, the overhaul of another 26 buildings of educational institutions ended or is in the final stage.
In this academic year, two new schools open doors in the Arkhangelsk region, while one of them will become a unique institution for the region – school No. 95 in Arkhangelsk will work as the first profile engineering school in Pomorie.
The deputy chairman of the government also drew attention to the development of youth policy: “According to Rosmolodezh, the Arkhangelsk region is one of the leaders and an active participant in the program for patriotic education and the development of volunteering. Thanks to the victories in the competition “region for young”, the subject received subsidies – about 240 million rubles for the repair and equipment of youth spaces. All this brings a tangible result: according to polls, in the Arkhangelsk region, the share of youth, which sees opportunities for self -realization, is 91%above the average in the country. ”
The Arkhangelsk region has reached significant success in the development of tourism. The Deputy Prime Minister noted the participation of the region in the events of the national project “Tourism and hospitality”. Federal budget funds, together with regional and private investments, are going to create new hotels.
According to the governor, tourism is one of the promising areas. The Arkhangelsk region offers an interesting tourist product in terms of rich history, preserved cultural monuments and other areas that attract an intellectual tourist.
For the creation of sports infrastructure in the region, funds were allocated for federal projects “Sport-Life” and “Business Sprint (I choose sports)”, and now-as part of a comprehensive state program for the development of physical education and sports. In recent years, the number of sports facilities has increased significantly. Also, the region is one of the leaders in the development of innovative sports: 5 regional federations have been created.
At the end of the meeting, Alexander Tsybulsky submitted a proposal to create in the village of Solovetsky Trade and Fair Square. Its project was developed in preparation for the celebration of the 600th anniversary of the founding of the first monastic settlement on the Solovetsky archipelago.
