
Russian schoolchildren won four medals of the 37th International Informatics Olympiad
In the city of Suchero (multinational state of Bolivia), the results of the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) were summed up. Four Russian high school students won two gold and two silver medals. The successful performance of the children and their mentors was congratulated by the Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov.
“Russian President Vladimir Putin at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence emphasized that Russia should be at the forefront of large -scale changes throughout the world. And we need to offer by really innovative, non -standard decisions. Such a call accurately reflects the thinking of our guys who won two gold and two silver at the International Informatics Olympiad. This significantly replenished the piggy bank of the awards of Russian schoolchildren – 29 medals in international competitions this year. We are proud of the winners and we wish to confidently go forward to the new heights. The government, in turn, will continue to create all the conditions for self-realization and development of talents of children and youth, ”said Deputy Prime Minister.
Dmitry Chernyshenko expressed thanks to teachers, mentors and parents of schoolchildren for support.
“Russian schoolchildren again proved their skill at the international level, showing an excellent result at the International Informatics Olympiad. Their success is not only pride in the country, but also an important contribution to the future of the digital economy. I am sure that it is precisely such talented guys that will preserve and increase the technological leadership of Russia, moving a forward science and innovation, ”said Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov.
Pyotr Losev (school No. 57, Moscow) and Vladislav Zhiganov (SUNC Moscow State University, Moscow, Moscow) were awarded gold medals. Silver at Gimran Abdullina (Boarding Lyceum No. 2, Kazan) and Daria Grekova (school No. 57, Moscow). All the guys are the winners of the All -Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren in computer science. He headed the Russian national team to the IOI dean of the faculty of information technology and programming by ITMO University Andrei Stankevich.
The training of schoolchildren for competitions was carried out by the coaching staff under the leadership of teachers of the MIPT, ITMO and the Higher School of Economics. The head of the coaching staff is the director of the Higher School of Program Engineering of the MIFT Aleksey Maleev.
The Rector of the MIFT Dmitry Livanov congratulated the guys and addressed special words of gratitude to their mentors, including coaches from the MIPT and ITMO University, who not only transmit knowledge, but also teach to win, for a year after the year, leading Russian schoolchildren to the world pedestal.
“Your success is a watch of hard work, sleepless nights for debugging code and an endless search for non -standard solutions. Behind each task there are dozens of trials and errors, and behind each medal – the ability to think outside the templates, find elegant algorithms where others see only complexity, ”he said.
This year, young programmers from 87 countries took part in the competition. The IOI Olympics consisted of two rounds lasting five hours each. During this time, the participants had to solve six algorithmic problems.
At the moment, in a piggy bank of Russian schoolchildren, 20 gold, 8 silver and one bronze medal of the main international olympiads.
IOI – annual international computer science competition for schoolchildren of the middle and high school, which has been held since 1989. In 2024, all four participants in the Russian team won gold medals.
