Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who oversees the North Caucasus Federal District, held the first meeting of the organizational committee for the preparation and holding of the Caucasian Investment Forum in 2026.
The event was attended by representatives of the federal authorities, the heads of the regions that are part of the North Caucasus Federal District, top managers of the largest state corporations, members of business universities and public organizations, and representatives of industry communities.
The Caucasian Investment Forum is carried out in order to increase the investment potential of the North Caucasus Federal District and in the interests of its sustainable socio-economic development.
Opening the meeting, Alexander Novak thanked the organizers, members of the organizing committee, representatives of departments and companies that took part in the organization of the Caucasian Investment Forum in 2025, noted the country’s leadership, the quality of participants, including foreign ones.
For three days, the forum was visited by more than 4,100 people from 32 countries, including 1450 representatives of Russian and foreign business, nine federal ministers, heads of four federal departments, seven leaders of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as senior delegations from Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Kazakhstan and Qatar. 86 agreements were signed in the amount of over 206 billion rubles, including five agreements with international partners. The forum program covered more than 78 events involving 440 speakers and an emphasis on key development directions – from industry and logistics to education and healthcare. Particular attention was paid to the youth agenda: more than 1000 students from 40 universities in the country took part in a rich program dedicated to the development of career, leadership and creative industries.
«The Caucasian Investment Forum of 2025 in mineral waters has become an important step forward – both in terms of organization and content. We were able to surpass the bar last year, and this is the result of the team work of all participants. The growth of investors’ interest in the region was shown by the “peak”-266 applications from 49 regions. I consider it important to continue its holding in 2026. The youth program covered the key areas-IT, science, entrepreneurship, tourism. This confirms that the Caucasus has a strong personnel resource. We are already starting to prepare it even more efficiently, ”said Alexander, Alexander said Novak.
The adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, the responsible secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Caucasian Investment Forum, Anton Kobyakov noted that the North Caucasus is a promising region with many growth points. “Among the spheres of active development of the regions of the district are tourism, agriculture, employment. Systemic work on the infrastructure development of the North Caucasus continues. The holding of the Caucasian Investment Forum opens up wide opportunities for cooperation between the North Caucasus Federal District with other regions of Russia, including from the point of view of attracting new economic partners and expanding prospects for the development of industrial and agricultural production, as well as strengthening the positions of the region in the tourism market, ”said Anton Kobyakov.
The KIF-2026 business program will be attended by heads of state authorities, representatives of Russian and international companies, media, youth and scientific communities. The forum will become a platform for negotiations and concluding business contracts with the aim of developing investment projects and public-private partnerships in the Russian regions.
A special emphasis in the business program in 2026 will be made to expand international economic cooperation, primarily with the countries of the Azov-Black Sea and Caspian basins. It is planned to actively participate in the representatives of these states in the work of the forum, which will open up new opportunities for creating international transport and logistics routes and implementing joint investment projects in areas such as mining, ecology and cultural interaction.
By the decision of the Organizational Committee for the preparation and conduct of the KIF-2026, next year the forum will be held from May 17 to 19 in the city of Mineralnye Vody at the site of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Minvodyekspo”.
