Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova opened a gala concert of the II International Competition of Pianists, Composers and Conductions named after S.V. Rokhmaninov in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky.

“These two weeks were really exciting. The whole musical community watched wonderful, talented people: which of them will become the winners of the competition. The competition, which takes place for the second time, was born in the year of the 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninov and now certainly entered not only our musical life, but also into the musical life of the whole world, ”Tatyana Golikova told reporters.

She emphasized that the competition has become a unique launching pad for gifted, talented musicians.

“I want to once again congratulate the laureates and express my gratitude to our international jury and the leaders of three directions: Denis Leonidovich Matsuev, who stood at the origins of the competition, Valery Abisalovich Gergiev and Alexander Vladimirovich Tchaikovsky. I am very pleased that our country has become a place of birth of new talents, ”said Deputy Prime Minister. “We see that art knows no boundaries, and music becomes an international language of friendship.”

II International Competition of Pianists, Composers and Conductions named after S.V. Rokhmaninov was held in Moscow from June 14 to 26. Over 500 applications from 25 countries of the world were submitted to participate in it. 24 artists from 8 countries – South Korea, Italy, China, Belarus, Russia, Spain, Kazakhstan and Great Britain were laureates.
