The First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov took part in large -scale tests of promising laser systems for counteracting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at one of the specialized training grounds. The event was organized by the collegium of the military -industrial complex and the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the participation of leading defense industry enterprises: companies included in the Rostec State Corporation, and organizations of the State Corporation Rosatom. These technological solutions will subsequently become one of the components of the universal air defense system, the need to create the day before by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The main goal of the tests was a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of the latest laser systems in conditions as close as possible to real ones. During the testing, the accuracy of the guidance, the range of damage, the speed of the reaction of the complexes to moving air goals, as well as their resistance to various weather conditions, were checked.

The tests were attended by eight counterparts of opposition to UAVs of various capacities – from compact mobile units to high -power stationary systems, which made it possible to obtain the most complete data on the possibilities of modern laser technologies in the fight against unmanned threats. At a specialized training ground equipped with modern measuring equipment, scenarios of opposition to UAVs of different types were worked out – from small -sized commercial drones to more complex devices imitating reconnaissance and shock drones.

The tests have confirmed the characteristics declared by the manufacturers, the correctness of the selected directions for the development of complex defense systems of critical infrastructure objects from UAVs. Their results will be used to finalize existing samples and create systems that can provide reliable protection against modern air attack means. Conducting tests allows you to proceed to the beginning of serial production and scaling of demonstrated solutions.
