American report: Muslims are ranked first in global population growth news

The US Research Foundation stated that Muslims are the fastest population-growing religious group in the world, an increase of 347 million people in the period 2010-2020.

The Foundation published a report of analysis of information obtained from 2,700 sources of data, including census, records and surveys over a period of more than 10 years between 2010 and 2020, and the responses of the participants from 201 countries on questions about their religion.

The report revealed that the number of Muslim population, which increased by about 347 million people during more than 10 years, is increasing by the fastest rate compared to other religions, and that this is due to the natural population growth in Islamic societies.

On the other hand, the report indicated that the number of Christians increased by 122 million, but it decreased compared to the world’s population. The report attributed the decrease in the percentage of Christians by 1.8% to the increase in the number of sects not belonging to this religion, and left some Christians to their religion.

Accordingly, the percentage of Muslims among the world’s population increased from 23.9% in 2010 to 25.6% in 2020, while the percentage of Christians decreased from 30.6% to 28.8% during the same period.

The report stated that the largest decrease in the number of Christians was in Europe and America.

The report pointed out that Muslims are concentrated in regions such as Asia, the Pacific Ocean and the Middle East and North Africa, and that the Muslim population increased by 52.3% in North America, 33.8% in sub -Saharan Africa, by 23.9% in the Middle East and North Africa.

The most prevalent

The report also indicated that the Christian population decreased by 10.8% in North America, by 8.8% in Europe, and increased by 31.2% in sub -Saharan Africa.

The report stated that Christianity is the most prevalent religion in the world, with the exception of the areas of Asia and the Pacific Ocean, the Middle East and North Africa.

According to the report, the percentage of those who do not belong to any religion reached 24.2%, and they constituted the third largest group after Christians and Muslims.

On the other hand, the report indicated that the number of Buddhists in 2020 was lower than it was in 2010, where their number decreased by 19 million people during this period, while the Jewish population increased by 6% in the period 2010-2020, to reach about 15 million people.

A report published by the Pew Research Foundation in 2017 indicated that the fastest growth in the world is Islam, and that Islam may become the largest religion in the world by 2075.
