In Nizhny Novgorod, the results of the International IT Olympiads were summed up, in which more than 10 thousand schoolchildren from 51 countries took part. In the final stage of the competition, 17 teams from Russia, Cuba, Thailand, India, China, Vietnam, Mozambique, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka met. As part of it, participants solved practical problems in the field of artificial intelligence and information security.

The winners were awarded as part of the anniversary conference “Digital Industry of Industrial Russia” (CIPR). The deputy chairman of the government, head of the government apparatus Dmitry Grigorenko, took part in the awarding ceremony of the finalists. He noted that the participants, despite their young age, showed a high level of knowledge in the field of IT and involvement.

“The awarding of the finalists of the IT Olympiads is not by chance today under the CIPR. At the exhibition, we saw advanced digital solutions. But people are behind all these developments. In order for the IT industry to develop in Russia, highly qualified personnel are necessary primarily. You will soon become such frames and you are interested in interested young specialists. You are already part of the industry.

Over the past 5 years, we have already managed to increase the number of budget places in universities in IT specialties by 2.5 times. More than 230 thousand students received qualifications for IT profiles. The largest companies are actively involved in personnel training. In the framework of the national project “Economics of Data“ We launch new training programs for specialists in microelectronics, robotics and artificial intelligence, unmanned systems, ”said Dmitry Grigorenko, deputy chairman of the government, the head of the government apparatus.

The IT Olympiad lasted almost 2 months and consisted of 2 stages: personal and command counting. Schoolchildren solved the problems in the areas of: cryptography, web security, reverse engineering, artificial intelligence, analysis of network traffic, machine learning, exploration in open sources (OSINT), information security theory, programming basics, social engineering and others. A number of tasks imitated real sites with vulnerabilities – the participants needed to hack them and go around the defense. Tasks were prepared by experts in artificial intelligence and information security.

Best of all, the participants coped with the tasks of mathematical logic (75% of the participants solved them correctly), the theory of information security (74% of participants), the basics of algorithmization and programming (73% of the participant). The most difficult for students were given assignments in the field of social engineering (32% of the participants solved them correctly) and reverse engineering (36% of participants).
