During the conversation, an interested exchange of views on the current state and prospects for the development of trade and economic cooperation of Russia and Afghanistan took place.

On both sides, significant potential for the growth of trade volumes has been noted. “For the full development of trade and economic cooperation between our countries, it is important to ensure stable and predictable conditions for business interaction,” said Alexei Overchuk, noting the need to work on the formation of the regulatory framework of bilateral interaction.

“We are convinced that the sustainable development and stability of Afghanistan meet the interests of the entire Eurasian region,” the deputy chairman of the government emphasized.

In turn, Abdul Gani Baradar noted the high interest of the Afghan government in the comprehensive development of trade and economic ties with Russia, including joint projects that will allow the implementation of the transport and logistics potential of Afghanistan and strengthen economic connectedness in Eurasia.

The parties agreed on the establishment of regular interdepartmental dialogue to discuss the parameters of the implementation of projects in various sectors of the economy and increase the volume of mutual trade.

According to the results of the intergovernmental meeting, a number of bilateral documents were signed, including a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of the Islamic Emirate Afghanistan in the field of transport and transit.
