At the site of the 16th International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia Marat Khusnullin held a number of working meetings with colleagues from foreign countries.
In particular, a meeting was held with the Minister of Privatization, Investments and Communications of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Abdul Alim Khan.
“Pakistan is an important partner for our country in South Asia. Our relations with Islamabad are dynamically develop in almost all directions. I think that it is necessary to increase them further. One of the key issues is reliable and uninterrupted mutualization. Already today, the proportion of non -Western currencies in the structure of bilateral calculations of Russia and Pakistan is about 80%. This is a very good result. I hope that we will continue to work using the Russian financial message transmission system and the “world of the“ world ”payment system,” the deputy prime minister said.
According to him, another important issue is related to transport corridors. Cargo transportation in Pakistan is developing by road. And here the significance of the international transport corridor “North – South” increases more and more.
“Also a very important point is our cooperation within the SCO. I hope we will continue to effectively interact in this area. I am sure that this meeting and participation of the Pakistani delegation in the work of the forum will give a good impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation, ”said Marat Khusnullin.
In addition, he held a working meeting with the deputy prime minister of Afghanistan for economic issues Abdul Gani Baradar. As part of the event, representatives of the Afghan delegation noted that their foreign policy course is aimed at the economic development of the country, they are aimed at cooperation, the potential direction of which can be trade and economic interaction-projects in the field of agriculture, energy, transport infrastructure and engineering, and mining industry.
