Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with the head of the Republic of Mordovia Artyom Zdunov. The development of the agro -industrial complex and ecology in the republic was discussed.

The agro -industrial complex of Mordovia has been demonstrating growth for more than 10 years. Last year, the volume of gross agricultural products amounted to almost 118 billion rubles: more than 1.3 million tons of grain were collected with better yield in the Volga Federal District, as well as more than 1 million tons of sugar beets. This year in Mordovia they plan to sow agricultural crops of 755 thousand hectares. The head of the region emphasized that farmers are fully provided with all the necessary resources, including fuel and mineral fertilizers. Thanks to the use of Russian selection seeds, the volume of import substitution in a number of crops is increased.

According to the results of last year, Mordovia ranks third in Russia for the production of milk. In 2024, more than 550 thousand tons of milk were produced in the region, which is more than a year earlier. In January – March of this year, growth is also recorded in relation to the same period last year. More than 2 billion rubles from the federal budget will be allocated to support the agro -industrial complex of Mordovia this year.

A lot of work in Mordovia is carried out as part of the state program “Integrated Development of rural territories” – about 1.5 billion rubles were allocated to the region.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the results of the implementation of the national project “Ecology” and the participation of the region in the new national project “Ecological Blessing”. The head of the region spoke about the course of updating infrastructure for storing and processing solid utilities. Dmitry Patrushev called for accelerating work to eliminate unauthorized landfills in the region.
