In the Amur Region, the construction of one of the world’s largest gas processing plants (GPZ) is being completed. Deputy Chairman of the Government – head of the government apparatus Dmitry Grigorenko got acquainted with the activities of the enterprise as part of a working trip on the facilities of the industrial development of the Far East.

The readiness of the Amur GPZ exceeds 90%. With the access to full capacity, the company will process 42 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Yakutia and the Irkutsk region annually. This is the second plant in the world in terms of natural gas processing.

The implementation of the project has become possible thanks to the integrated measures of state support. Development institutions provided financing, and special economic regimes created preferences for investors. This approach made it possible to attract private capital in a strategically important project for the country.

It is assumed that the Amur GPP will increase the production of ethane in Russia by 2 times after reaching the design capacity. This gas serves as the basis for the manufacture of polymers, which are widely used in construction, automotive, furniture and packaging. Thus, the Russian market will be fully provided with plastics, which Russia is often purchasing abroad.

More than 10 times it is planned to increase the production of helium in the country due to the launch of the Amur enterprise. This rare gas plays a critical role in high -tech industries: it is necessary in medicine, scientific research, the production of fiber and even quantum computers, where it is used for supern Wealth cooling.

“The Amur GPZ is the result of the coordinated work of the government, development institutions and business. Together, we solve the most important problem – we create in Russia modern production for deep gas processing, which will provide the country with critical products and bring our industry to a new technological level, ”said Dmitry Grigorenko.

For the construction and work of the Amur gas processing plant, all the necessary infrastructure was created: 40 km of railway tracks and 27 km of access roads were laid, a pier on the Zee River was built to deliver large -sized goods. Particular attention was paid to the creation of comfortable conditions for employees of the enterprise. Near the plant, a residential microdistrict for 5 thousand people with full social infrastructure is being built: a school, a kindergarten, a clinic, a sports palace, a cultural house and a shopping center. Part of the housing has already been commissioned.

The number of personnel of the new plant will be about 5 thousand employees. To date, more than 3 thousand people are already involved in the enterprise, more than 35% of employed are residents of the Amur Region.
