The XI St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures will be held in the first half of September. The corresponding decision was made on March 3 at a meeting of the Organizational Committee for its preparation and conduct, under the leadership of the deputy chairman of the government Tatyana Golikova.

“We have developed the experience of preparing a forum of united cultures and we are improving it every year,” said Tatyana Golikova. – Despite the covid period and the resumption of the forum in an updated format when some countries have attempted to cancel Russian culture, the site successfully works and unites the cultural figures of the world. This year the forum will be held in the first half of September. ”

The main theme of the forum is “Return to Culture – New Opportunities,” Tatyana Golikova said. The venues of the business program will traditionally be the main headquarters of the State Hermitage, the spaces of the State Russian Museum and the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg.

The cultural program of the forum will include a concert on Palace Square and a gala concert of the opera and ballet stars in the Mikhailovsky Theater.

“In 2025, we propose to increase the total maximum number of participants to 2 thousand people. It is supposed to expand Russian participation by increasing quotas for the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as well as more attracting cultural figures and special guests, ”said Olga Lyubimova.

Thematic sections will be headed by the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Konstantin Mogilevsky, General Director of the Presidential Fund of Cultural Initiatives Roman Karmanov, General Director of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the Russian Ethnographic Museum, Yulia Kupin, Chairman of VEB.rf, Igor Shuvalov, First Deputy General Director of Russia ITAR-TASS Mikhail Guzman, Executive Director of the Film Film Fyodor Sosnov, Artistic Director of the State Theater of Nations Yevgeny Mironov, General Director of the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg Olga Homov, General Director of the Great Moscow Circus on Vernadsky Avenue Edgard Zapashny.

Within the framework of the forum, the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory will be covered. The ITAR-TASS news agency proposed organizing a photo exhibition “Musa is not silent”, based on materials from their archives.

The Director General of the Presidential Cultural Initiatives Roman Karmanov spoke about the events of the Culture and New Technologies section, the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Boris Piotrovsky-about the regional program of the forum.

The proposals for the future program of the forum were made by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Alexander Pankin, special representative of the President of Russia for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydka and the chairman of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate on the relationship of the church with society and the media, Vladimir Legoda.

The head of the Directorate of the St. Petersburg International Forum of the United Cultures Vladimir Kekhman said that at least 300 representatives of Russian and foreign media are expected.
