“There hasn’t been a good war for a long time,” this is how the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gabir can be imagined saying to his advisor Hanmal Dorfman, similar to Mother Courage in Brecht’s play.
The combined attack on Israel on several fronts, the burned and evacuated houses in the north and south of the country, the bereaved families and the families of the abducted, all of these are not considered a “good war” as far as Minister Ben Gabir is concerned, since he is not in the center of attention.
