In an interview given to Humans of Bombay, Nikhil Kamat said that his father used to work in a bank and was transferred to Bengaluru. Nikhil was not interested in traditional school studies, hence he used to bunk school and play chess. At the age of 14, Nikhil along with a friend started buying and selling old phones. This was his first business. But when the mother came to know about this, she flushed all the phones in the toilet and her business was closed.

This decision was taken before the board exam
Due to low attendance before the board exam, the school was in favor of not giving the exam to Nikhil and hence called his parents to the school. Due to this Nikhil left school. On this his parents said – Do not do anything that will embarrass us. After dropping out from school, he had no idea what to do next.
Worked in call center by making fake certificate
Later, by making a fake birth certificate, at the age of 17, she joined a call center at a salary of Rs 8000. He used to work in the call center from 4 pm to 1 am. During this time, at the age of 18, he invested money in the stock market for the first time. During this time he got to learn a lot. The father gave him some money and told him to manage it. Father had great confidence in Nikhil.

After this, Nikhil convinced the call center manager to invest in the stock market and also started investing the manager’s money in the market. Nikhil Kamat told that in his last year in the call center, he did not go to office even for a day and he kept getting incentives along with salary, because till that time he was investing his entire team’s money in the market and giving good returns to everyone. .
In 2010, he left his job and started Zerodha with his elder brother. He said that even after becoming a billionaire, there has been no change in him. Even today he works 85% of the day and remains insecure. Let us tell you that Nikhil Kamat has also started the asset management company True Beacon along with his elder brother. In 2020, Forbes included these two brothers in the list of 100 richest people of India.
